An Open Letter to the Members of Teamsters Local 776
My name is Thomas B. Griffith. I was the President and Principle Officer of Local 776 from 1985 until 2001 .
As I'm sure you are all aware, your Local officers are up for election this year. I may be retired, but I still stay informed regarding the activities of your Local.
Ed Thompson and Ron Hicks have done a remarkable job of turning the Local around and heading in the right direction. Ed Thompson being appointed to the Joint Council Executive Board is an example of his excellent leadership. Receiving this appointment in one's second term is unheard of! This shows the confidence that the upper echelon of Teamsters have in him. Since big contracts are coming due and the IBT Convention is next year, it is important to have strong leadership and experience in place. Therefore, I encourage all of you to continue to support Ed Thompson and Ron Hicks and the entire Teamsters for Teamsters Slate.
